Ather Energy reported a consolidated net profit of ₹1.26 crore for the September quarter of FY27, compared with a net loss of ₹154 crore in the year-ago period, as per exchange filings dated October 26, 2026.

Total income increased 62% year-on-year to ₹1,527 crore, while electric two-wheeler volumes rose 42% to 93,211 units.

EBITDA stood at ₹74.2 crore, making it the company’s second consecutive quarter with a positive figure. The EBITDA margin was 4.9%, against -9.6% in Q2 FY26 and 0.8% in the June 2026 quarter.

Margins and Revenue Mix

The company’s adjusted gross margin rose to 24% from a year earlier, an improvement of 160 basis points. Ather attributed the change to its product mix and pricing decisions, although costs of aluminium, copper, lithium and crude-linked plastics remained high during the quarter.

Non-vehicle revenue, which includes software, charging, accessories, spare parts and services, contributed 15% of revenue from operations, compared with 12% in the same quarter last year. The company also said that 94% of customers opted for AtherStack Pro.

Demand and Production

Customer enquiries more than doubled in Q2 FY27, rising 109% year-on-year to around 10 lakh. Pre-orders increased 108% to 1.80 lakh.

Vahan data showed that electric two-wheeler registrations across India reached approximately 5.98 lakh during the quarter, up 82% from a year earlier.

Ather’s Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu operated at 98% capacity utilisation during peak production. The company said demand exceeded its available production capacity.

Expansion Plans

On October 26, 2026, Ather approved an investment of approximately ₹122 crore to expand production at Hosur and its under-construction facility at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.

Hosur’s annual capacity is expected to increase from 4.2 lakh to 4.95 lakh units by December 2026. The second facility’s planned capacity will rise from 5 lakh to 6.5 lakh units by Q2 FY28.
