Ather Energy has achieved a major milestone with its family electric scooter Rizta crossing 3 lakh unit sales within two years of launch, as per news reports. Introduced in April 2024 as the company’s first family-focused scooter, the Rizta has emerged as Ather’s largest volume contributor and played a key role in expanding its presence across new markets and customer segments.
The company had crossed the 2 lakh sales mark in December 2025 and added another 1 lakh units in just five months, highlighting rising consumer demand for family-oriented electric scooters in India.
According to the company, the Rizta contributed nearly 76% of Ather’s total portfolio during FY26, making it the brand’s best-selling electric scooter. The strong growth has helped Ather strengthen its market position, particularly in Southern India, where the company claimed to have achieved a leadership position during the financial year.
The Rizta was strategically positioned as a practical family scooter with a focus on comfort, storage, and daily commuting needs, helping the company attract a broader customer base beyond performance-focused EV buyers.
As per news reports, the Rizta has also played an important role in expanding Ather’s market share in middle India. The company said its market share increased fourfold in states such as Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha since the scooter’s launch.
The rapid adoption also reflects the growing shift toward electric mobility in India, especially in the family scooter segment where affordability, practicality, and charging convenience are becoming key purchase drivers.
India’s electric two-wheeler market has witnessed increasing competition as manufacturers focus on affordable and mass-market products to boost adoption. Family scooters have emerged as a high-growth category due to rising fuel prices and improving EV infrastructure.
The success of the Rizta underscores the growing demand for practical electric mobility solutions beyond premium performance-oriented scooters.

With the Rizta driving the majority of sales and helping the company expand into newer regions, Ather appears well-positioned to capitalise on the rising demand for family-focused EVs in the country.
