As per the exchange filing, the company plans to invest around ₹14,500 crore in the programme, which will expand its manufacturing presence across the East, West, and North regions.
Expansion to Cover Six States
The planned additions include a grinding capacity of around 15.5 MTPA in the West, 11.6 MTPA in the East, and 2.9 MTPA in the North.
The projects span Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh. Major locations include Rangia and Hojai in Assam, Godda in Jharkhand, Muzaffarpur in Bihar, Mundra and Hazira in Gujarat, and several sites in Maharashtra.
The programme also includes new clinker capacity at Umrangso in Assam, Maratha and Mundra in the West.
Capacity Target of 155 MTPA by FY30
Ambuja's current cement capacity stands at 113.5 MTPA, supported by 24 integrated plants and 24 grinding units. The proposed expansion, along with debottlenecking initiatives, is expected to take capacity to 155 MTPA by FY30.
The company added 4.6 MTPA during the first half of FY27. Another 5.6 MTPA is expected to be commissioned or ramped up during the second half, taking capacity to 119 MTPA by March 2027.
Focus on Manufacturing and Logistics Costs
The company said the expansion will strengthen its manufacturing network and improve the link between clinker and grinding capacity. It expects the new facilities to support manufacturing efficiencies and reduce logistics costs by bringing production closer to markets.
Ambuja has also stated a target of achieving a cost of ₹4,000 per tonne by FY28.
