Adani Ports Share Price in Focus; Its Subsidiary to Acquire 51% Stake in Meridian Transportes

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has acquired a 51% controlling stake in Meridian Transportes Marítimos S.A.through its step-down subsidiary, The Adani Harbour International FZCO (TAHID). The company disclosed the development in a regulatory filing dated May 15, 2026.
The acquisition has been carried out through a Share Purchase Agreement signed with Logistica y Servicios Maritimos S.A. and Simpo S.A.
The transaction value stands at $444.49 and will be settled in cash. Adani Ports said the deal is expected to be completed within 4 months.
About Meridian Transportes
Meridian Transportes Marítimos operates in maritime transport and nautical services in Argentina. The company was incorporated in September 2023 and later registered before the Public Registry of the City of Buenos Aires in October 2023.
Its share capital stands at ARS 1,000,000.
According to the filing, the company holds a nautical services contract with Southern Energy S.A.. The agreement involves the supply of 6 vessels for a period of 10 years. The contract was executed in December 2025.
Expansion Plans
Adani Ports stated that the acquisition is for establishing a joint venture for nautical services in Argentina. The company said the transaction is aligned with its plans to expand maritime operations in South America.
As part of the arrangement, TAHID and Logistica y Servicios Maritimos S.A. have also entered into a separate agreement related to a UAE-based vessel ownership company.
Under the agreement, TAHID will sell a 20% stake in the proposed entity to an affiliate of the Argentine maritime group.
Financial Details
Meridian reported a net loss of around $698 in FY2023 and $848 in FY2024. The company recorded a net profit of nearly $1,499 in FY2025.
Adani Ports also stated that no government or regulatory approvals are required for completing the acquisition.
