ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has commissioned 142.67 MW / 481.49 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System capacity in the first phase of its planned energy storage projects. The project forms part of the company’s broader plan to develop a total battery energy storage capacity of 585 MW / 2011.24 MWh through its special purpose vehicles.
The commissioning marks an important step in strengthening the company’s renewable energy infrastructure and supporting efficient power management across its operations.
The newly commissioned battery energy storage systems are located in Rajasthan and are connected to the existing operational Inter-State Transmission System network. In the initial phase, the systems will operate on a merchant basis in the short term.
This operational model allows the company to generate additional revenue by leveraging the price difference between peak and non-peak power demand periods. The energy storage systems will store electricity during periods of lower demand and release it during peak demand hours, helping to optimise electricity pricing opportunities.
Over time, the battery storage systems will be integrated with the company’s FDRE projects. Once integrated, these projects will operate under long-term power purchase agreements for a period of 25 years.
The integration is expected to enhance the efficiency and reliability of renewable power generation by ensuring a stable supply of electricity even during periods of fluctuating generation from renewable sources such as solar or wind.
Battery energy storage systems are designed to improve grid stability and ensure better utilisation of generated electricity. By storing surplus power during off-peak hours and discharging it when demand rises, the systems help balance electricity supply and demand.
This capability supports smoother grid operations and enhances the reliability of renewable energy supply in the power network.
On March 13, 2026, ACME Solar share price opened at ₹243.00. At 11:12 AM, the share price of ACME Solar was trading at ₹257.20, up by 7.13% on the NSE.

The commissioning of the first phase of ACME Solar’s battery energy storage system marks a significant step in expanding energy storage infrastructure in India. With a long-term plan to install around 17 GWh of storage capacity across multiple states, the company aims to strengthen renewable energy integration, improve grid stability, and unlock new revenue opportunities through advanced energy storage solutions.
