Siemens Share Price Rose Over 2% After Release of Q4 FY24 Results

Siemens Ltd. reported a 45.4% rise in net profit to ₹830.7 crore for the July-September quarter, up from ₹571.3 crore in the same period last year. This increase was driven by higher revenues in the quarter. The company’s revenue from operations for the quarter rose by 11.2% to ₹6,461 crore, compared to ₹5,807.7 crore in the year-ago period. This growth reflects solid demand across Siemens’ business segments.
Siemens’ earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) surged 34% to ₹938 crore in Q4 FY24, compared to ₹700.2 crore in the same period of the previous year. The EBITDA margin improved to 14.5%, up from 12.1% in the year-ago quarter.
Strong Order Book
Siemens reported a 37% increase in new orders, which amounted to ₹6,164 crore for the quarter, up from ₹4,498 crore in the same period last year. The strong order intake was supported by healthy demand across all business areas, though the digital industries segment saw a normalization in demand. Excluding the large ₹9,000 HP electric locomotive order from Indian Railways received in FY 2023, new orders increased by 14% in FY 2024.
Dividend Recommendation
The Siemens board has recommended a dividend of ₹12 per equity share (600% on a ₹2 face value) for the financial year ending September 30, 2024. If declared at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), the dividend will be paid on February 14, 2025.
Capex for Power Transformer Factory Expansion
Siemens announced an additional capital expenditure of ₹100 crore for the expansion of its Power Transformer factory in Kalwa. The total planned capex for this facility is now ₹460 crore, up from ₹360 crore previously announced in November 2023. This expansion aims to broaden the product portfolio and enhance manufacturing capabilities.
