Power Grid Acquires Rajasthan IV 4A Power Transmission to Strengthen Infrastructure

Power Grid Corporation of India, acquired Rajasthan IV 4A Power Transmission Limited for ₹18.37 crore. The acquisition aims to strengthen transmission infrastructure in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, boosting power evacuation.
Acquisition Details
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has successfully acquired Rajasthan IV 4A Power Transmission Limited (RIV4APTL) under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route.
The acquisition, finalised on December 30, 2024, enables Power Grid to establish a transmission system to evacuate power from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Phase-IV.
This system includes the development of 765/400kV substations in Uttar Pradesh and transmission lines across Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The acquisition, valued at ₹18.37 crore, includes 50,000 equity shares and assets of RIV4APTL.
Expected Outcome from the Acquisition
The project is expected to strengthen India’s power transmission infrastructure. RIV4APTL was incorporated on August 6, 2024, and is yet to start commercial operations. The acquisition follows the required regulatory approvals and is in line with Power Grid’s goal of expanding transmission capabilities.
Share Price Performance
On December 31, 2024, Power Grid Corporation of India’s share price traded 0.13% lower at ₹307.15 at 11:50 AM on the NSE. The stock opened at ₹307.35 lower than ₹307.55 at the previous close.
