July 2025 Auto Sales: TVS Leads Two-Wheeler Segment, Hero and Bajaj Trail Behind

During July 2025, TVS Motor Company led the two-wheeler sales across the segment with a growth of 29% YoY.

India continues to establish itself as a key player in the global automotive market, with strong export momentum expected to persist. In FY25, total production across all vehicle segments, including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, three-wheelers, two-wheelers, and quadricycles, reached 31,034,174 units. Specifically, March 2025 production stood at 2,476,915 units across passenger vehicles, three-wheelers, two-wheelers, and quadricycles.

Auto exports from India surged by 19% in FY25, crossing 5.3 million units. This growth was fueled by strong international demand for passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and commercial vehicles.

TVS Motor Company

TVS reported robust growth with total sales of 4,56,350 units in July 2025, a 29% increase over the 3,54,140 units sold in July 2024.

  • Two-wheeler sales rose 29% YoY to 4,38,790 units, up from 3,39,676 units.
  • Domestic two-wheeler sales grew by 21%, reaching 3,08,720 units, compared to 2,54,250 units last year.
  • Motorcycle sales climbed 25% to 2,01,494 units, from 1,61,074 units in July 2024.
  • Scooter sales jumped 42%, recording 1,98,265 units, up from 1,39,995 units last year.

Hero MotoCorp

Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, sold 4,49,755 units in July 2025, achieving a 21% YoY growth from 3,70,274 units. The company also reported 3,39,827 VAHAN retail registrations*, reflecting strong demand across both rural and urban markets.

Bajaj Auto

Bajaj Auto saw steady performance with 3,66,000 units sold in July 2025, marking a 3% increase over 3,54,169 units in July 2024.
