On July 10, 2025, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), one of India’s foremost consumer goods companies, announced a landmark leadership transition. Effective August 1, 2025, Priya Nair will take over as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company—the first woman to hold this prestigious position in HUL’s 92-year history.
Priya Nair will succeed Rohit Jawa, who will step down as MD & CEO on July 31, 2025, after serving in the role for two years. Under his tenure, the company witnessed strategic shifts and sustained growth, paving the way for Nair’s appointment.

Aged 53, Priya Nair began her illustrious career at HUL in 1995 as a management trainee after completing her MBA from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune. Over nearly three decades, she has risen through the ranks, building a reputation as a dynamic and visionary leader.

- 1995–2012:Held diverse roles in Sales and Marketing across the Home Care and Beauty & Personal Care segments, laying a strong foundation in consumer-centric business strategy.
- 2012:Joined the HUL Management Board, overseeing Beauty & Personal Care.
- 2014: Appointed Executive Director, Home Care, where she led a significant turnaround by driving product innovation and operational efficiency.
- 2021:Elevated to Executive Director & EVP – South Asia, Beauty & Personal Care, strengthening regional brand equity and consumer engagement.
- 2022: Assumed the global role of Chief Marketing Officer, Beauty & Wellbeing, leading international growth strategies, digital transformation, and innovation pipelines.
- 2023:Became President, Beauty & Wellbeing, managing a €13.2 billion portfolio, including powerhouse brands such as Dove, Sunsilk, Clear, and Vaseline.
- 2024:Appointed Business Group President, Beauty & Wellbeing, further solidifying her global leadership credentials.
