CRISIL To Acquire 4.08% Stake In Online PSB Loans For ₹33.25 Crore

CRISIL Ltd. Purchases 4.08% of OPL
On December 12, 2024, CRISIL Ltd. announced its intention to acquire a 4.08% stake in Online PSB Loans Limited (OPL), a leader in the digital infrastructure for MSME credit, for ₹33.25 crore. This investment is contingent upon finalising the shareholders’ agreements and completing the offer process.
In a regulatory filing, CRISIL stated, “…we would like to inform you that the board of directors of CRISIL Limited has approved an investment in the equity capital of Online PSB Loans Limited amounting to ₹33.25 crore to acquire a 4.08% stake, calculated on a post-money, fully diluted basis.”

Founded in 2015 and based in Ahmedabad and Mumbai, Online PSB Loans Limited (OPL) focuses on connecting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with financial institutions. The company offers digital lending solutions, including PSB loans that can be obtained in just 59 minutes, along with a variety of other credit products.
For the fiscal year 2023-24, OPL achieved a revenue of ₹44.87 crore, marking a 37% increase compared to the previous year. Its net worth is reported at ₹51.49 crore, along with a profit after tax of ₹0.17 crore.
Deal Details
The current transaction entails a cash payment of ₹33.25 crore, with the investment dependent on the successful execution of shareholder agreements and the satisfaction of typical closing conditions. The deal is expected to be finalised within 45 days.
This partnership underscores CRISIL’s strategic goal of enhancing digital transformation in the MSME and agricultural credit sectors while promoting innovation in lending infrastructure.
