Greaves Cotton’s Electric Mobility Business Secured Approval for EMPS Scheme Incentives

Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited (GEMPL), a prominent player in the electric mobility sector, has achieved a significant milestone. The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) has officially approved the registration of its two-wheeler models—Nexus, Primus, Magnus, and Zeal—under the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS). This approval paves the way for GEMPL to benefit from the Government of India’s generous EV demand incentive scheme.
GEMPL’s three-wheeler business, operated through a subsidiary, has already been eligible for demand incentives under the EMPS Scheme. The recent approval of its two-wheeler models marks a crucial step forward in the company’s mission to provide accessible and sustainable mobility solutions to the Indian market. With all eligible models now included, GEMPL is poised to further strengthen its position as a leading force in the electric vehicle industry.
- Vijaya Kumar, Executive Director & CEO of Greaves Electric Mobility, said, “Resuming our place in the EMPS scheme underscores our unwavering commitment to our consumers towards accessible and sustainable mobility solutions. We continue to lead with innovation in India’s EV journey.”
