Upon investigation, it was found that someone had fraudulently registered a GST number using the client’s PAN and carried out high-value transactions without their knowledge.
The misuse happened because the individual had shared their PAN and Aadhaar copies with several banks during loan applications, providing an opportunity for scammers to exploit the documents.
