
The State Bank of India (SBI), through its CSR arm SBI Foundation, has launched the Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 2025 to provide financial assistance to deserving students from economically weaker sections. The initiative commemorates SBI’s 75th anniversary and reinforces its commitment to inclusive education and youth empowerment.
The SBI Asha Scholarship 2025 is among the largest education-focused initiatives by the bank. This year, a total of 23,230 students from various parts of India are expected to benefit from the programme.
The scholarship offers financial aid ranging from ₹15,000 to ₹20,00,000 per year, depending on the course and level of study. The assistance continues annually until the completion of the recipient’s education.
The scholarship is open to Indian students from Class 9 up to postgraduate level, including those studying at IITs, IIMs, medical colleges, and other premier institutions.
It also extends to students aspiring to pursue higher education abroad, particularly SC/ST students undertaking master’s or doctoral programmes at globally reputed universities.

The scheme supports students enrolled in NIRF top 300 or NAAC ‘A’ rated institutions, as well as those pursuing studies at IITs, IIMs, and leading medical colleges. The goal is to ensure that no capable student is denied education due to financial hardship.
