Marking the festival of Raksha Bandhan, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav transferred ₹1,859 crore directly into the bank accounts of 1.26 crore women beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, as per news reports.

₹1,859 Crore Transferred to 1.26 Crore Women on Raksha Bandhan

As per the news report, on August 7, 2025, during a state-level function in Narsinghgarh, Rajgarh district, the Madhya Pradesh Government deposited ₹1,859 crore into the accounts of eligible women. The event was aligned with Raksha Bandhan, symbolising the state’s support for women's dignity and social strength. The transfer formed part of the larger Ladli Behna Yojana, which now grants ₹1,250 monthly to women, up from the previous ₹1,000.

Special Rakhi Bonus and Future Increase in Assistance

In a festive bonus, each woman received ₹1,500 in August, including an additional ₹250 as a Raksha Bandhan benefit. The Chief Minister also announced that from November, the assistance will rise to ₹1,500 monthly. So far, the scheme has disbursed over ₹41,000 crore, proving itself as a major vehicle for social welfare in the state.
