Marking the festival of Raksha Bandhan, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav transferred ₹1,859 crore directly into the bank accounts of 1.26 crore women beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, as per news reports.
As per the news report, on August 7, 2025, during a state-level function in Narsinghgarh, Rajgarh district, the Madhya Pradesh Government deposited ₹1,859 crore into the accounts of eligible women. The event was aligned with Raksha Bandhan, symbolising the state’s support for women's dignity and social strength. The transfer formed part of the larger Ladli Behna Yojana, which now grants ₹1,250 monthly to women, up from the previous ₹1,000.
In a festive bonus, each woman received ₹1,500 in August, including an additional ₹250 as a Raksha Bandhan benefit. The Chief Minister also announced that from November, the assistance will rise to ₹1,500 monthly. So far, the scheme has disbursed over ₹41,000 crore, proving itself as a major vehicle for social welfare in the state.

Alongside the Ladli Behna Yojana transfer, CM Yadav also allocated ₹43.90 crore to 28 lakh women under the Ujjwala Yojana during the same ceremony. Further, new development initiatives were unveiled, including the renovation of Baijnath Dham, the construction of 4 gates, and the announcement of a new government college in Kurawar.
The Raksha Bandhan disbursement under the Ladli Behna Yojana reaffirms the Madhya Pradesh government’s focus on women’s welfare and rural development. The festive bonus and future increments reflect a continued commitment towards enhancing the financial strength of women in the state.
