The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched 3 new initiatives to improve the experience of its members. These reforms aim to simplify access, speed up claim processes, and make PF services more transparent.

EPFO Launches Passbook Lite for Easy PF Tracking

Earlier, members had to log in to a separate portal to view their PF passbook. This created confusion and delays for many users.

With the launch of Passbook Lite, members can now see a summary of their PF account directly on the Member Portal. It shows contributions, withdrawals, and the current balance in a simplified format.

This new feature uses existing systems to reduce the load on the main passbook portal. For those who want a detailed or graphical view, the original Passbook Portal is still available. The goal is to provide most PF services through a single login, making it easier and quicker for members.

Annexure K Now Available for Download

When employees change jobs, their PF accounts are transferred. In the past, the Transfer Certificate (Annexure K) was only shared between PF offices. Members had to request it manually, which delayed the process and made it difficult to track.

Now, EPFO has made Annexure K downloadable directly from the Member Portal. This gives members full control over their transfer details. They can check if their service period and PF balance have been correctly updated in the new account.

It also provides a digital copy for future reference, which increases transparency and helps members stay informed.

EPFO Enables Faster Claim Settlements with Fewer Delays

Previously, many PF services, such as claims, advances, and transfers, required approval from senior officers. This often led to long waiting times.

To fix this, EPFO has simplified the approval system. Now, many tasks can be approved by Assistant PF Commissioners and junior staff. This will speed up processes and improve efficiency in PF offices.

Members can now expect quicker settlements and smoother service, thanks to better delegation of responsibilities.

Conclusion

These new features under EPFO 3.0 show the organisation’s focus on improving digital services and reducing delays. With Passbook Lite, Annexure K downloads, and faster claim approvals, members can now enjoy simpler, quicker, and more transparent PF services.
