Many EPF members recently noticed that their EPF passbook is not showing wage details for September and October 2025. This has caused confusion among employees who regularly track their monthly provident fund contributions.
However, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has confirmed that there is no issue with member accounts. The temporary delay is happening because the organisation is updating its systems.
According to EPFO, the passbook updates for these two months are currently being processed under a revamped ECR ledger posting system. This technical upgrade is causing a short period of non-visibility in passbook entries. EPFO has stated that the updated details should appear within a couple of days.
During this time, members do not need to take any action. Once the system update is complete, the contributions will automatically reflect in the passbook.
For the financial year 2024–25, the EPF interest rate has been set at 8.25%. This rate has already been approved by the government and will be credited to member accounts after the annual interest calculation is completed.
To make checking contributions easier, EPFO has launched a new feature called Passbook Lite. This tool provides a simple view of your contributions, withdrawals and current balance directly through the member portal. It removes the need to visit the separate passbook website and helps members access essential information more quickly.
To file online claims smoothly, members must ensure:

The temporary delay in updating EPF passbooks for September and October 2025 is due to system improvements and not an error in member accounts. EPFO has assured that all entries will reflect soon. Meanwhile, members can continue to check their balance using the main portal, Passbook Lite or the UMANG app. Staying aware of these updates ensures smooth access to EPF information and timely claim processing.
