The Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) has revised the Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) for executives and non-unionised supervisors of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), effective July 1, 2026. The revised rates apply to employees covered under the 1987, 1997, 2007 and 2017 pay scales.
The move is aimed at adjusting salaries in line with inflation and will increase the dearness allowance component of eligible employees' monthly pay.
According to the DPE notification, the revised IDA rates effective from July 1, 2026, are:
| Pay Scale | Revised IDA Rate |
| 2017 Pay Scale | 55.7% |
| 2007 Pay Scale | 241.7% |
| 1997 Pay Scale | 476.9% |
| 1987 Pay Scale | ₹18,298 (based on an average AICPI level of 9,854) |
The revised allowance has been calculated based on changes in the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI), which is used to compensate employees for the impact of inflation.
The increase in Industrial Dearness Allowance will raise the inflation-linked component of salaries for eligible CPSE employees. The actual benefit will vary depending on an employee's basic pay, applicable pay scale and salary structure.
For example, an employee drawing a basic pay of ₹50,000 under the 2017 pay scale will receive an IDA of ₹27,850 at the revised rate of 55.7%. Employees under older pay scales will receive IDA as per the revised rates applicable to their respective pay structures.
The revised rates apply to executives and non-unionised supervisors employed in Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs). These government-owned companies operate across sectors such as energy, manufacturing, infrastructure and financial services, and follow pay structures distinct from those of central government employees.
The Department of Public Enterprises has directed administrative ministries and departments to communicate the revised rates to CPSEs under their jurisdiction for implementation.

The latest revision in Industrial Dearness Allowance will provide higher inflation-linked compensation to eligible CPSE employees from July 1, 2026. While the exact salary increase will depend on an employee's pay scale and basic salary, the revised IDA rates are expected to offer relief against rising living costs and ensure periodic alignment of wages with inflation.
