Bajaj Life Insurance Launches Global Wealth Builder Policy Through GIFT City

Bajaj Life Insurance announced its first product through GIFT City on October 22, 2026, according to news reports. The policy, named Bajaj Life Global Wealth Builder, allows policyholders to pay premiums and receive benefits in US dollars.
The plan offers investment options across global equities, emerging markets, gold, liquid funds, and equities linked to artificial intelligence. Returns depend on the performance of the underlying investments and are not guaranteed.
Other Insurers Offering Similar Policies
Bajaj Life Insurance joins several insurers offering investment-linked life insurance policies through GIFT City. These include Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Canara HSBC Life Insurance, IndiaFirst Life Insurance and Tata AIA Life Insurance.
Earlier in October, Ageas Federal Life Insurance launched its Aurum Advantage Plan. It offers life cover alongside investment options denominated in US dollars, euros and British pounds.
Insurance Rules at GIFT City
GIFT City in Gujarat houses India's International Financial Services Centre (IFSC). Insurance businesses operating there are regulated by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA).
Insurers operating through an IFSC Insurance Office can offer policies in freely convertible foreign currencies, subject to applicable regulations. These policies combine life cover with investments in market-linked funds, whose returns vary according to market performance.
Foreign-currency policies may suit non-resident Indians (NRIs) and other eligible customers who have expenses outside India, such as overseas education costs or retirement expenses. Eligibility criteria, payment methods, and policy conditions differ across products.
Costs and Currency Risks
Customers need to consider the risks associated with market-linked investments and changes in exchange rates. Those earning and spending mainly in rupees may face conversion costs, while currency movements can affect the value of their policy benefits when converted back into rupees.
Other factors to check include premiums, fund management charges, withdrawal conditions, and the amount of life cover. Tax treatment will depend on applicable laws and individual circumstances.

Conclusion
Bajaj Life Global Wealth Builder adds another investment-linked insurance policy to GIFT City's retail market. The policy's returns will depend on its underlying investments, while the value of benefits in rupees may also change with exchange rates.
