JioBlackRock Life Cycle Fund 2056 is an open-ended mutual fund scheme that aims to generate long-term capital appreciation through investments in equity, debt, commodities, and other permitted instruments.

The scheme follows a pre-defined asset allocation plan linked to its target maturity year of 2056. Managed by JioBlackRock Asset Management, the fund is structured to change its portfolio allocation as the maturity date approaches.

The scheme information document states that returns are not guaranteed.

Equity Allocation to Decline Near Maturity

The fund will follow a glide path that gradually changes its exposure to different asset classes. During the earlier years, equity will account for a larger share of the portfolio. Debt exposure will increase as the scheme moves closer to maturity.

For investments with 15-30 years remaining until maturity, equity allocation can range between 65% and 95%, while debt can account for 5%–25% of total assets. When less than one year remains, equity exposure will range from 5% to 20%, and debt allocation can rise to 25%–65%.

The scheme can also invest in gold and silver exchange-traded funds, exchange-traded commodity derivatives linked to these metals, and infrastructure investment trusts, subject to the prescribed limits.

Benchmark and Portfolio Management

The scheme’s benchmark comprises the Nifty 500 TRI, weighted at 70%, and the Nifty Composite Debt Index, weighted at 25%. Domestic gold and silver prices account for 3% and 2%, respectively.

Portfolio construction will use BlackRock’s Aladdin technology platform. Fund managers will make the final investment decisions, taking into account market conditions, interest rates, inflation, and liquidity.

Minimum Investment and Exit Load

The minimum lump-sum investment is ₹500, while the minimum SIP instalment is also ₹500. Both Direct and Regular plans will offer the Growth option.

An exit load of 3% applies to redemptions within one year, 2% for holdings above one year and up to two years, and 1% for holdings above two years and up to three years. No exit load applies after three years.

Maturity and Risk

The scheme is scheduled to redeem at the end of 30 years. Its New Fund Offer (NFO) dates remain unspecified in the document. Investment values may fluctuate with market movements, and the scheme does not assure returns.
