TRUST Mutual Fund Names Saurabh Kataria to Head its Equities

TRUST Mutual Fund has appointed Saurabh Kataria as Head of Equities, as per news reports. The fund house entered the equity segment in April 2024 and has since been adding products and building its investment team.
Role and Prior Responsibilities
Kataria was previously with Axis Max Life Insurance, where he managed equity assets of around ₹24,000 crore as of March 2026.
His responsibilities included handling portfolios such as the High Growth Mid Cap Fund and the Growth Super Large Cap Fund.
In his new role, he is expected to oversee equity strategies and support the development of the fund house’s product range in this segment.
Experience Across Institutions
He has over 2 decades of experience in equity research and fund management. Earlier in his career, he worked with BOI AXA Mutual Fund and Goldman Sachs India, where he was involved in research and portfolio-related roles.
His experience spans different market conditions and investment styles, covering both large-cap and mid-cap segments.
Expansion of Equity Offerings
Since starting its equity business in April 2024, TRUST Mutual Fund has launched multiple schemes across categories. This includes a multi-cap fund introduced during the past year as part of its product expansion.
The fund house reported assets under management of over ₹4,200 crore as of March 31, 2026. Equity forms a part of its strategy to widen its presence beyond fixed income offerings.
Strengthening Internal Setup
The appointment comes as the fund house builds its internal investment structure. Adding senior personnel is part of plans to support portfolio management and research functions as the number of schemes increases.
Conclusion
TRUST Mutual Fund continues to add products and investment capacity in equities, alongside a gradual rise in assets under management.
