
Assets Under Management (AUM) of Specialized Investment Funds (SIFs) rose 13% month-on-month to ₹11,533 crore in April 2026, compared with ₹10,620 crore in March, according to data from the Association of Mutual Funds in India.
The increase came even as total inflows into SIF strategies declined during the month. Overall inflows stood at ₹1,219 crore in April against ₹1,314 crore in March, indicative of a fall of around 7%.
Hybrid strategies remained the largest segment within SIFs by assets. The category reported AUM of ₹8,712 crore in April, up 11.84% from ₹7,790 crore in March.
However, inflows into hybrid strategies declined 24% to ₹740 crore during the month. Hybrid long-short funds accounted for most of the inflows at ₹651 crore, lower than ₹844 crore recorded in March.
Active asset allocator long-short funds also saw reduced participation. Inflows into the category fell to ₹90 crore from ₹130 crore in the previous month. Despite lower inflows, the segment’s AUM increased sharply to ₹168 crore from ₹27 crore.
Equity-oriented SIF strategies reported stronger inflows in April. Total inflows into equity strategies rose 40.7% to ₹478 crore, compared with ₹340 crore in March.
Equity long-short funds saw inflows increase to ₹257 crore from ₹93 crore in the previous month. The category’s AUM stood at ₹1,210 crore in April, up 14.12% month-on-month.
Equity ex-top 100 long-short funds recorded inflows of ₹221 crore, lower than ₹247 crore in March. Even with lower inflows, AUM in the category rose 20.05% to ₹1,611 crore from ₹1,342 crore.
Total AUM under equity strategies increased 17.43% to ₹2,821 crore in April from ₹2,402 crore in March.
Debt-oriented SIF strategies remained inactive in April 2026. No schemes have been launched under the category so far, according to the available industry data.

SIF AUM expanded in April 2026 mainly due to higher assets across equity and hybrid categories, even as total inflows declined month-on-month.
