PGIM India Mutual Fund Temporarily Suspends SIPs and STPs in 3 Overseas Fund Schemes

PGIM India Mutual Fund has decided to temporarily halt new SIP registrations and STP instalments in 3 of its overseas fund schemes, effective from August 7, 2026, as per The Moneycontrol news report.
This measure is in response to regulatory limits imposed by SEBI regarding investments in overseas assets, ensuring compliance with the prescribed financial ceilings.
Suspension of Systematic Investment and Transfer Plans
The ban applies to the PGIM India Global Equity Opportunities Fund of Fund, PGIM India Emerging Markets Equity Fund of Fund, and PGIM India Global Select Real Estate Securities Fund of Fund. The measure follows SEBI's guidelines set on June 17, 2022, limiting mutual fund investments in overseas securities.
These restrictions primarily affect ongoing SIPs and STPs, excluding redemptions, switch-out transactions, SWPs, and other intra-scheme or intra-plan actions which remain unaffected.
SEBI's Investment Ceiling Compliance Necessitates Move
The current actions align with past subscription constraints enacted by PGIM India earlier in 2026. The asset management company is ensuring it operates within the international investment caps established by financial regulators. The previous restrictions were part of controlling fund inflow within the industry-wide allowance for overseas investments.
Industry-Wide Limits on Overseas Investments
The SEBI circular from February 2022 set an industry standard for investment in overseas securities. PGIM India and other fund houses have responded by limiting new subscriptions when nearing the cap. The halt applies only to existing setups, with flexibility in other fund actions remaining.
