Edelweiss Mutual Fund has launched a new scheme under its Altiva Specialised Investment Fund (SIF) platform. The fund, named Altiva Equity Ex-Top 100 Long-Short Fund, opened for subscription and will close on June 1, 2026.
The New Fund Offer (NFO) is available at a price of ₹10 per unit during the subscription window. The scheme has been introduced as an open-ended strategy investing in equity and equity-related instruments.
The fund will invest mainly in companies outside the top 100 by market capitalisation. This places its focus on the small and mid-cap segment rather than large-cap stocks.
According to the scheme details, the strategy will primarily take long positions in stocks while also allowing limited short exposure through derivatives. The approach is for managing market movements while maintaining exposure to selected companies.
The scheme will be benchmarked against the Nifty 500 Total Return Index (TRI).
The fund will be managed by Trideep Bhattacharya, Nikhil Gada, and Amit Vora. Edelweiss Mutual Fund said the strategy would rely on bottom-up stock selection across sectors.
The asset management company stated that the broader market universe outside the top 100 companies offers access to businesses that are less represented in the large-cap space.
The launch is the second offering under the Altiva SIF platform. The company’s earlier scheme, the Altiva Hybrid Long Short Fund, was launched under the same category.
Investors redeeming or switching out units within 90 days from the date of allotment will have to pay an exit load of 0.50% of the applicable net asset value (NAV).
No exit load will apply on redemption or switch-outs after 90 days from allotment.

The Altiva Equity Ex-Top 100 Long-Short Fund adds another product to the growing SIF category in the mutual fund industry. The scheme is centred on equity exposure beyond the top 100 listed companies, with limited use of short positions through derivatives.
