Mahindra Manulife Mutual Fund has announced the launch of MPOWER SIF, its new platform under SEBI’s recently introduced Specialised Investment Fund (SIF) framework.
The initiative marks the fund house’s entry into a category designed to offer greater investment flexibility than traditional mutual funds.
The SIF framework enables asset managers to introduce strategies that go beyond conventional mutual fund structures.
Through MPOWER SIF, Mahindra Manulife plans to offer investment solutions across equity, hybrid and fixed-income categories in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
The platform will be able to utilise a broader range of investment tools, including derivatives, tactical asset allocation approaches and concentrated portfolio strategies, catering to investors seeking differentiated risk-return opportunities.
SEBI introduced the Specialised Investment Fund category to create an intermediate investment avenue between conventional mutual funds and portfolio management services.
The framework provides fund managers with additional flexibility while maintaining regulatory oversight and investor safeguards.
Anthony Heredia, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mahindra Manulife Investment Management Pvt Ltd, said the launch expands the company's product portfolio and addresses increasing investor interest in more flexible investment options.
Krishna Sanghavi, Chief Investment Officer – Equity, said the platform would provide additional scope to design portfolios suited to changing market environments while maintaining a focus on long-term risk-adjusted performance.
