HSBC Mutual Fund has announced the launch of the RedHex Hybrid Long-Short Fund under the Specialised Investment Fund category. The HSBC Mutual Fund launch introduces a hybrid strategy with a minimum investment of ₹10 lakh for regular investors.
The New Fund Offer for the HSBC Mutual Fund scheme opened on June 2, 2026, and will close on June 16, 2026. The launch reflects growing activity in the Specialised Investment Fund segment within India’s mutual fund industry.
HSBC Mutual Fund has introduced the RedHex Hybrid Long-Short Fund as part of the Specialised Investment Fund framework. The scheme is designed to combine multiple asset classes within a single portfolio structure.
It aims to generate regular income alongside capital appreciation through diversified exposure. The fund also targets risk-adjusted returns across varying market conditions through its hybrid allocation strategy.
The New Fund Offer for the HSBC Mutual Fund scheme will remain open for subscription from June 2, 2026, to June 16, 2026. The minimum investment amount has been set at ₹10 lakh, while accredited investors can participate with ₹1 lakh.
The fund is structured as an interval investment fund, allowing subscriptions on all business days. It also offers weekly redemption windows, providing periodic liquidity to investors within the structure.
The HSBC Mutual Fund RedHex Hybrid Long-Short Fund will invest in fixed-income securities, equity arbitrage opportunities, and units of REITs and InvITs. The allocation approach is expected to focus on generating accrual income with relatively lower volatility levels.
Exposure to REITs and InvITs reflects the inclusion of alternative income-generating assets within the portfolio. The diversified model is intended to balance return generation and risk management across asset classes.
Specialised Investment Funds were introduced to bridge the gap between traditional mutual funds and products such as Portfolio Management Services and Alternative Investment Funds. These funds offer greater flexibility in portfolio construction while remaining regulated under the mutual fund framework.
Asset management companies have increasingly been expanding offerings within this segment. The HSBC Mutual Fund launch aligns with broader industry trends targeting investors seeking alternative strategies.
