DSP Mutual Fund has announced the appointment of Anish Tawakley as its Chief Investment Officer (CIO). In this role, he will oversee both equity and fixed income investments, further strengthening the firm’s investment leadership and strategy.

The move is aimed at improving alignment across asset classes while continuing the fund house’s focus on disciplined and research-driven investing.

Leadership Role at DSP

As CIO, Anish Tawakley will work closely with the existing equity and fixed income investment teams at DSP. His responsibilities will include guiding overall investment strategy and ensuring coordination between different asset classes to deliver consistent performance across market conditions.

The appointment reflects DSP’s effort to strengthen its investment framework by bringing together expertise across multiple segments of the capital markets.

Extensive Industry Experience

Before joining DSP, Anish Tawakley served as Co-Chief Investment Officer – Equities at ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company. With nearly three decades of experience in the financial markets, he has worked across various roles including equity research, portfolio management, asset allocation and team leadership.

His long career has allowed him to navigate multiple market cycles, giving him a deep understanding of both growth opportunities and risk management in investment portfolios.

Focus on Risk Management and Long-Term Investing

According to Kalpen Parekh, Managing Director and CEO of DSP Asset Managers, Tawakley brings a disciplined and conservative approach to investing. Parekh noted that his investment philosophy emphasises protecting portfolios during downturns while generating alpha during challenging market environments.

Tawakley’s ability to evaluate macroeconomic trends alongside equity, fixed income and credit markets is expected to help DSP deliver more consistent outcomes for its investors.
