Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund has lifted the ₹5 lakh per day subscription limit on its Aqua Fund of Fund, allowing fresh SIP/STP in this international fund as of May 20, 2026.

This decision arises due to the improved headroom for overseas investments, although regulatory boundaries remain unchanged.

Elimination of Subscription Limits

The ₹5 lakh subscription cap for lump-sum investments, applied per investor at the primary holder PAN level, is no longer effective in the Baroda BNP Paribas Aqua Fund of Fund

This revision enables investors to engage in investments without the constraints imposed by this monetary ceiling, as long as it remains within the overall overseas investment limits allocated to the Asset Management Company (AMC).

Revival of Fresh SIPs/STPs

The previous restriction on Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs) and Systematic Transfer Plans (STPs) registrations in the Aqua Fund of Fund has been removed.

This permits fresh subscriptions across various modes including lump-sum investments, SIPs, STPs, and switch-ins, provided they adhere strictly to the available overseas investment limits as of February 1, 2022.

Regulatory Constraints and Risk Management

The AMC has clarified that future subscriptions will be guided by existing regulatory limits and internal risk practices.

A potential cap on subscriptions might be considered, linked to a percentage of the average AUM invested overseas over the previous 3 months, contingent on the maximum permissible limit as of February 1, 2022.

Investment Capacity Parameters

The actual capacity for new investments into the Aqua Fund of Fund aligns with the difference between previous and current exposure levels.

Constraints may cause limited investment availability concerning full overseas investment utility.

Background of the Fund

The Aqua Fund of Fund was launched on May 7, 2021, with an AUM of ₹36.71 crore by April 2026. In the past year, it has delivered returns of 15.50%, with a 3-year return of 12.33% and a CAGR of 8.39% since inception.

Conclusion

Baroda BNP Paribas’ decision to lift subscription limits and permit fresh SIP/STP registrations in their Aqua Fund of Fund reflects an adaptive move aligned with improved overseas investment headroom, while ensuring compliance with regulatory investment caps.
