Zepto Adjusts Free Delivery Threshold to ₹199, Aligning with Rivals

Qucik commerce firm Zepto has revised the minimum order value for free delivery from ₹149 to ₹199, as per NDTV Profit report.
Its competitors like Zomato's Blinkit and Swiggy’s Instamart, also have the similar thresholds.
Zepto's New Minimum Order Value
Zepto has implemented a new minimum order value of ₹199 for free delivery, up from the previous ₹149. The company had earlier raised the threshold from ₹99 to ₹149 for several users last year.
As per the report, this change is part of a strategy to encourage customers to add more items to their orders, potentially increasing the net order value.
The minimum order value is further raised to ₹299 during periods of high demand, prompting customers to purchase more to qualify for free delivery.
Impact on Customer Orders and Economics
As per the report, the Higher threshold could also challenge customer willingness to place smaller, convenience-driven orders.
As there is an increase in the minimum order value, the customers may add more items which could lead to larger average basket sizes.
