Here are the Key Reasons for Surge in IT Index below
Surge in IT Shares
IT shares saw a notable increase, with TCS leading the charge after reporting its September quarter results. TCS shares rose by 5%, buoyed by an acceleration in AI-related revenue and growth in its international business.
The NIFTY IT index, as a result, surged more than 3%, with TCS and HCL Technologies among the top gainers on the Nifty 50.
Easing Geopolitical Concerns
Investor sentiment improved following US President Donald Trump's statement that any attack on Iran would occur only after the midterm elections, as per news reports. This delay in potential military action eased immediate concerns over geopolitical tensions, positively impacting Indian equities.
Decline in Crude Prices
Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, declined by 1.11% to $103 per barrel. This reduction in crude prices offers relief to India, a significant oil importer, by alleviating concerns over import costs and inflation.
Decline in India VIX
The India VIX, a measure of expected market volatility, fell by 4% to 14.68. A decrease in the volatility index suggests reduced expectations of sharp market swings, which can bolster investor sentiment.
