The week ended May 16, 2025, saw the Indian stock market in negative territory, where Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex closed 2 sessions in red, while 3 in green. On May 12, 2025, Nifty 50 and Sensex rose ~4% and commenced a rally after a long-muted sessions. However, after a roller-coaster ride, both the benchmark indices ended in red, whereby, Nifty 50 dropped 0.18% and Sensex fell 0.23%.

- Tata Motors reported a significant 51.34% YoY decline in its consolidated net profit for Q4FY25, falling to ₹8,470 crore from ₹17,407 crore in the same quarter last year.
