
Vodafone Idea has announced a new international roaming option aimed at families travelling abroad, offering reduced rates on roaming packs for secondary users on its postpaid plans.
The move reflects rising overseas travel among Indian consumers and the growing preference for group and family trips. The updated plans combine roaming benefits, insurance cover, and value-added services.
Vodafone Idea (Vi) has unveiled a new international roaming (IR) scheme tailored for families, providing discounted roaming packs for additional members on its Family Postpaid plans.
The offer aims to support the increasing number of Indian families travelling overseas, as outbound travel has continued to grow steadily.
Under the Family IR programme, Vi is offering reduced prices on IR packs for secondary connections.
These discounts apply to 10-day, 14-day and 30-day IR packs, with prices beginning at ₹2,999. The initiative aligns with travel trends indicating that a significant share of Indian travellers journey with partners or other family members.
Vi’s Family Postpaid plans start at ₹701 and allow two to five members on a single account. Customers can include up to eight secondary users at ₹299 per person.

Vi has partnered with Aditya Birla Health Insurance to provide travel cover of ₹40 lakh for ₹285 with all IR packs. This insurance offers protection against medical emergencies, evacuation, loss or delay of baggage, and trip disruptions during a single international trip.
Additionally, delayed baggage protection is available through Blue Ribbon Bags. For ₹99, customers can claim up to ₹19,800 per bag for a maximum of two bags in case of loss or delay.
Vodafone Idea’s share traded at ₹10.66, down ₹0.08 (–0.74%). The stock recorded a day’s range between ₹10.58 and ₹10.81.
