Vistara Airlines Passengers Bid Farewell As Merges with Air India

On November 12, 2024, Vistara Airlines officially became part of Air India today. The newly combined Air India entity is now poised to operate upwards of 5,600 flights each week, connecting over 90 destinations, signaling a major milestone for the Indian aviation sector.
Vistara Airlines Transitions to Air India Group
The merger was done in a phased manner starting from September 3, 2024 when ticket sales for select routes were progressively shifted from Vistara to Air India.
“By 12 November 2024, Vistara will be inoperative, and all its operations will be transferred to and managed by Air India. Passengers are assured that they are the airlines’ top priority, and will be offered clear guidance and support at every stage of your travel,” Tata Group said in a press release on its website in September 2024.
The merger of Vistara with Air India, revealed in November 2022, will see Singapore Airlines holding a 25.1% share in the merged airline upon the completion of the deal.
As part of the ongoing 5-year transformation initiative, Vihaan.AI, the four Tata-owned airlines—Air India, Vistara, AirAsia India, and AI Express—are being consolidated into a single group.
This unified group will operate as one full-service airline and one low-cost carrier, with a focus on establishing the Air India Group as a world-class global aviation company with an Indian heart.
Air India Ensures Seamless Customer Experience
Club Vistara members will enjoy a smooth transition to Air India’s Flying Returns program, allowing them to earn and redeem points for rewards on Air India and all 24 Star Alliance airlines.
