Vedanta Ltd announced its second interim dividend for the financial year 2026 on Thursday, August 21. The board has approved a dividend of ₹16 per share, amounting to a total disbursement of approximately ₹6,256 crore.
The company has set Wednesday, August 27, 2025, as the record date for the second interim dividend.

Earlier in June 2025, the board had declared the first interim dividend of ₹7 per share, bringing the cumulative dividend payout for FY26 so far to ₹23 per share.
Based on the company's total outstanding shares, Vedanta has distributed nearly ₹9,000 crore, or over $1 billion, in dividend payouts across the first two tranches of the fiscal year. Of this, promoter entity Vedanta Resources, which holds a 56.38% stake, has received over ₹5,000 crore, equivalent to almost $600 million.
In the previous fiscal year (FY25), Vedanta had declared a total dividend of ₹43.5 per share, resulting in a payout exceeding ₹17,000 crore. Over the past four financial years, the company has distributed over ₹200 per share in dividends, underlining its commitment to shareholder returns.

As of the June 2025 quarter, Vedanta had a strong retail investor base, with over 20.3 lakh retail shareholders, defined as those with shareholdings of up to ₹2 lakh, collectively owning 11.6% of the company.
