Top Losers of the Day: Hindustan Unilever, SBI Life, and Hindalco Lead Declines

Hindustan Unilever, Hindalco, and SBI Life were among the top losers on Nifty50 as markets closed nearly flat. HUL dropped 5.78%, and Hindalco fell 6.5%.

Benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 closed Thursday’s session nearly unchanged, with a slight negative bias. The BSE Sensex settled at 80,065.16, down by 16.82 points or 0.02% from the previous close. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty50 declined by 36.10 points or 0.15%, ending at 24,399.40.

- Hindustan Unilever Ltd’s share price opened at ₹2,647.00 and closed at ₹2,504.75. Hindustan Unilever (HUL) shares dropped more than 5% on Thursday, October 24, following its Q2 results, which fell short of market expectations. The stock fell by as much as 5.78%, reaching ₹2,504.15 per share on the BSE.
- Sbi Life Insurance Company Ltd’s share price opened at ₹1,724.45 and closed at ₹1,635.90. SBI Life reported a 39% year-on-year (YoY) increase in its consolidated net profit for the second quarter of FY25. The net profit rose to ₹529 crore, up from ₹380 crore in the same quarter last year.
- Hindalco Industries Ltd’s share price opened at ₹715.00 and closed at ₹690.50. Hindalco Industries Ltd. shares dropped by up to 6.5% on Thursday, October 24, making it the biggest loser on the Nifty 50 index.
- Nestle India Limited’s share price opened at ₹2,339.00 and closed at ₹2,263.00.
- Bajaj Auto Limited’s share price opened at ₹10,504.00 and closed at ₹10,302.00.
