Top Losers of the Day: Sensex, Nifty Fall Over 1%; Bharat Electronics, M&M Lead Losses

On October 22, 2024, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 closed Tuesday’s trading session in the red, with both falling over 1%. The BSE Sensex dropped 930.55 points (1.15%) to end at 80,220.72, while the NSE Nifty 50 fell 309 points (1.25%) to close at 24,472.10.
The market was dominated by sellers as 47 out of 50 Nifty50 stocks closed in the red. Major drags included Bharat Electronics, Mahindra & Mahindra, Adani Enterprises, Coal India, and State Bank of India, with losses of up to 3.79%. On the other hand, only ICICI Bank, Nestle India, and Infosys managed to gain slightly, with increases of up to 0.74%.

- State Bank of India’s share price opened at ₹814.00 and closed at ₹789.75.
