Titagarh Rail Systems Limited has announced a significant milestone with the receipt of a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW). The order pertains to the supply of complete shell assemblies for WAG-9HC locomotives, reinforcing the company’s growing presence in India’s railway manufacturing sector.
The contract, valued at ₹91.12 crore (inclusive of GST), has been awarded by BLW, a domestic entity under Indian Railways. The order emphasises Titagarh Rail’s ability to meet complex engineering requirements for heavy-duty locomotives. The project timeline specifies that the execution will be completed by August 31, 2026.
The WAG-9HC is one of the most powerful electric freight locomotives in India. By contributing to the supply of complete shell assemblies, Titagarh Rail strengthens its role in India’s freight rail ecosystem. This order also reflects the trust Indian Railways places in the company’s technical expertise, quality, and timely delivery capabilities.
This contract adds significantly to Titagarh Rail’s order book and ensures revenue visibility over the next two years. It also underlines the company’s alignment with the government’s vision of modernising the Indian Railways through robust infrastructure and advanced rolling stock.
