The LaLiT Announces ₹600 Crore Hotel Expansion Plan Across Five Destinations

The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group has announced plans to invest ₹600 crore over the next five years to add around 1,000 rooms to its hotel portfolio, according to news reports.
The expansion will take its inventory from 2,300 to approximately 3,300 rooms through a mix of owned properties and management contracts.
Investment and Funding
The company plans to spend ₹500 crore on projects across five destinations, with another ₹100 crore allocated for maintenance and refurbishment at its existing hotels. The investment will be funded through internal accruals and savings.
The group said its interest costs have fallen over the past two years. Any additional funding required would be arranged through loans from scheduled commercial banks.
Around half of the planned room additions will come from owned properties, while the remaining rooms will be added through management contracts. Under this model, property partners provide the capital while the group manages hotel operations.
Projects in Ahmedabad, Chitrakoot and Other Cities
A 240-room luxury hotel in Ahmedabad is expected to open ahead of the 2030 Commonwealth Games. The company has already invested ₹104 crore in the project, which has been under development since FY10.
A property with around 50 rooms is also planned in Chitrakoot. The expansion includes 100 additional rooms at Bekal, 50 at the group's Goa hotel and 55 at its Udaipur property.
The Udaipur project will also include expanded banquet and spa facilities. These projects form part of the planned investment in properties owned by the group.
Management Contracts in New Markets
Vrindavan will be the first property under the management contract model, with approximately 75 rooms. The report suggests that it aims to sign close to 20 management contracts over the next few years.
The company is also exploring opportunities in Chennai, Hyderabad, Leh, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Lakshadweep, Siliguri, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Existing Hotel Portfolio
The group currently operates 14 hotels in India, including 12 luxury properties under The LaLiT brand and two mid-scale hotels under The LaLiT Traveller series.
The planned expansion will increase its room capacity while allowing it to enter additional markets through management agreements.
