Tech Mahindra has entered into a licensing agreement with AT&T to provide telecom operators with automated solutions for network testing and certification. The arrangement covers AT&T’s Automated Network Testing (ANT) and Open Tool platforms, which will be used by Tech Mahindra for LTE and 5G networks across global markets.

Technology Access

The ANT platform includes an automated system that integrates traffic generation tools to run network tests and validations. Reports suggest that it is designed to perform network health checks and connectivity tests with reduced manual intervention.

The Open Tool supports the simulation of data and voice traffic to check the functioning of mobile packet core networks in both testing and live environments.

Scope of Licensing

The agreement permits Tech Mahindra to use and distribute these AT&T-developed platforms to telecom providers outside AT&T’s own service markets. This will make automated network testing tools accessible to a broader set of global operators, particularly those working on LTE and 5G deployment and maintenance.

Tech Mahindra provides technology services to more than 250 telecom companies in over 90 countries. Its services cover network design, integration, and operational support. With this licensing deal, the company adds AT&T’s testing tools to its existing telecom technology offerings.

AT&T’s View on the Partnership

AT&T said that licensing arrangements such as this help extend the use of its internal tools to the wider telecom industry. Through partnerships with other service providers, the company can make its developed technologies available for use beyond its own network operations.
