
Tata Motors has completed a significant corporate restructuring with a name change and demerger of its commercial vehicle business.
The passenger vehicle segment now operates under Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited (TMPV), while the commercial vehicles unit prepares for a separate listing on BSE and NSE.
In an official communication to shareholders, Tata Motors confirmed that the company name has been changed to Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited, with the Registrar of Companies, Mumbai, issuing a fresh Certificate of Incorporation on October 13, 2025.
The company clarified that TMPV will continue its passenger vehicle business, including investments in the Electric Vehicle segment and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) operations.
Following the name change, the trading symbol on stock exchanges has also been updated:
This change takes effect from October 24, 2025, and all historical trading data will now be reflected under the new symbol TMPV. Shareholders are advised to note that TMPV will appear in all future company communications, annual reports, and official documents.
The demerged Tata Motors CV (TMLCV) unit recently sent communications regarding share allotment after the demerger record date of October 14, 2025. Key details include:
TMLCV shares are currently frozen in the depository system until official listing and trading permissions are granted by BSE and NSE. Shareholders will be unable to trade these shares until the exchanges officially notify trading commencement.
