Tata Motors shares are in focus as the effective date for the demerger of its business is tomorrow, i.e., October 1, 2025. The Effective Date means the actual date when the entire demerger process is finished and the company has received all regulatory approvals, which makes the transaction legally binding.
Tata Motors said in an exchange filing, “The Scheme shall become effective upon filing of the aforesaid certified true copies of the NCLT Orders with the Registrar of Companies, Mumbai. The Boards of the respective companies, at their meeting held today resolved to make the Scheme effective on October 1, 2025.”
Following the demerger, Tata Motors will split its commercial vehicle business as TML Commercial Vehicles Limited and passenger vehicle business as Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited. The shareholder eligible as of the record date will receive 1 (one) fully paid equity share in TMLCV (face value of ₹2/- each) for every 1 (one) fully paid equity share of the Company.
Tata Motors has not declared the record date, which decides the eligibility for the shareholders. The Company will separately notify the “Record Date” for determining the Shareholders of the Company.
Tata Motors Limited posted a total sales figure of 73,178 units in the domestic and international markets in August 2025, reflecting an increase from 71,693 units sold in August 2024.
In the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (MH&ICV) segment, which includes both trucks and buses, domestic sales stood at 13,405 units in August 2025—up from 12,008 units in the same month last year.
The combined domestic and international sales of MH&ICVs in August 2025 marked the highest-ever monthly performance for the segment. This milestone is attributed to growing consumer confidence in electric vehicles (EVs) and a rapid shift towards sustainable, zero-emission transportation solutions.
