Swiggy to Launch Toing: Affordable Food App Targeted at Students and Young Professional

As per news reports, Swiggy to launch Toing, a standalone food delivery app focused on offering affordable meals to students and young professionals. This new app is part of Swiggy’s strategy to boost user engagement through its super brand ecosystem.
Toing Targets Budget-Conscious Consumers in Pune
Toing will list eateries providing complete meals in the ₹100 to ₹150 range. It targets the sizable student and young working professional population in Pune. Considering Bengaluru’s saturation, Swiggy chose Pune as the testbed to engage a price-sensitive yet digitally savvy customer base. The decision reflects Swiggy’s intent to tap into a less-penetrated but fast-evolving market.
Inside Toing’s Offerings and Positioning
Toing will feature curated meals from local restaurants within a specific budget segment. Unlike the ₹99 store on the main Swiggy app, Toing plans to expand the number of listings and provide a broader menu. The UI carries a green and pink theme, keeping the branding youthful and distinctive. It is now available on both Android and iOS platforms.
Difference Between Toing, Ownly, and Snacc
Toing will directly compete with Rapido's Ownly, which also caters to value-driven food delivery customers. However, Swiggy is set to sell its 12% stake in Rapido, eliminating ownership overlap. Snacc, another Swiggy app, serves hot canteen-style food within 10 minutes, while Toing offers complete meals focused more on affordability than speed.

Why Swiggy is Shifting to Standalone Apps
Toing becomes Swiggy’s seventh standalone app, marking a clear departure from the super app model. Other apps in the lineup include Crew, Pyng, Instamart, Snacc, and Dineout. The move enables Swiggy to sharpen its focus on each vertical and cater to specific consumer needs more effectively, bypassing the complexity of one-app-fits-all structures.
Swiggy Share Price Performance
On September 15, 2025, Swiggy share price opened at ₹422.65 on NSE, above the previous close of ₹420.55. During the day, it surged to ₹427.90 and dipped to ₹420.45. The stock is trading at ₹424.25 as of 2:55 PM. The stock registered a moderate gain of 0.88%.
Over the past week, it has declined by 2.84%, over the past month, it has moved up by 6.10%, and over the past 3 months, it has moved up by 17.54%.
Conclusion
Swiggy's launch of Toing in Pune presents a dedicated solution for affordable meal delivery tailored to students and young professionals. With its targeted pricing and focused user base, Toing strengthens Swiggy’s position in India’s competitive food delivery space.
