Swiggy has extended its Food on Train service to more than 115 railway stations across 28 states and union territories, as per news reports. The expansion covers 15 new stations, including Madgaon, Mangalore Junction, Ernakulam Junction, Tirupati, Rajahmundry, Rani Kamalapati, Jodhpur Junction, and Jalandhar.
The company said the additions will make the service available across key temple towns, college hubs, and tourist centres.
Meals will be available daily from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. Using PNR-linked logistics, the platform coordinates with partner restaurants to deliver food directly to passengers’ seats, even if a train halts for only a few minutes. As per the company, this is to address the long-standing dependence on pantry cars and station stalls.
As per news reports, a notable feature gaining traction is “Order for Others,” which allows users to send meals to people travelling. Swiggy data shows nearly 14% of Food on Train orders are placed this way. Lunch is the most ordered time slot, with dishes such as vegetarian thalis, rice bowls, sandwiches, and fruit plates being the top picks.
The company said the menu selection reflects local cuisines along different routes. Travellers can access items such as Malvani fish curry on the Konkan line, Kerala Sadya in Kochi, Goan rice plates, Mangalorean curries, Gujarati thalis, and Rajasthani-style meals. These options are prepared and delivered through partner outlets located at the designated stations.
Passengers can place an order by opening the Swiggy app, selecting the “Train” option, entering their PNR, and choosing from the listed restaurants along the route. The food is then delivered on board at the relevant station.

As of August 29, 2025, 10:13 AM, Swiggy share price stood at ₹410.85, lower by ₹10.15 (−2.41%).
The addition of 15 new stations takes the Food on Train network beyond 115 locations. The service now caters to travellers across pilgrimage towns, student hubs, and tourist centres.
