Swiggy has launched a new food delivery feature called DeskEats, targeted at working professionals. The service is now live in over 7,000 tech parks, business centres, and office complexes across 30 cities, as per the reports. These include cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Gurugram, Pune, and Kolkata.
DeskEats offers over 7 lakh menu items sourced from more than 2 lakh restaurants. Users can access the service by typing “Office” or “Work” in the Swiggy app. The platform is to serve everyday office food needs, ranging from meals to snacks.
The feature includes collections like Value Combos, Stress Munchies, Healthy Nibbles, One-handed Grabbies, and Teamwork Bites. These categories focus on typical work scenarios, such as solo desk lunches, team orders, and snacks during meetings.
Orders from the One-handed Grabbies section made up nearly 30% of total DeskEats orders, according to the company. Mumbai recorded the highest uptake of the new offering during the test run.
This development follows the launch of Swiggy’s Corporate Rewards Programme, which began 3 months ago. The programme has onboarded 14,000 organisations and engaged 1.5 lakh employees with Swiggy benefits for workplace use.
Swiggy has recently expanded into new categories with the launch of a lifestyle concierge app called Crew and a services platform named Pyng. It has also shut down its Genie delivery service.
