Stock Market (NSE & BSE) Holidays November 2026: Key Dates and Muhurat Trading

November 2026 is an important month for traders and investors in India, with Diwali celebrations and Guru Nanak Jayanti featuring in the stock market holiday calendar. The month includes two weekday trading holidays and a special Muhurat Trading session on Diwali.
Stock Market (NSE & BSE) Holidays in November 2026
Sunday, November 8, 2026, marks Diwali Laxmi Pujan, the main day of the Diwali festival. Although regular Sunday trading remains closed, a special Muhurat Trading session will be conducted, allowing investors to participate in the customary festive trading session.
Following this, the NSE and BSE will remain closed on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, for Diwali-Balipratipada. Later in the month, Tuesday, November 24, 2026, will be a trading holiday in observance of Prakash Gurpurb Sri Guru Nanak Dev, also known as Guru Nanak Jayanti.
Investors and traders should plan their transactions around these dates, keeping the two weekday closures separate from the special Sunday trading session. Regular equity trading otherwise follows the exchange’s weekday schedule, excluding declared holidays.
Muhurat Trading, in particular, provides an opportunity to participate in a special session held to mark Diwali. Unlike a regular trading day, this session follows a separately notified schedule, and trades executed during it carry settlement obligations.
