The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will remain open for regular trading on August 26, 2026.

This date coincides with a settlement holiday for Id-e-Milad, affecting the clearing and settlement process, as per The Economic Times report.

Trading Schedule on August 26, 2026

On August 26, 2026, both NSE and BSE will conduct trading as per usual hours, from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM. This day is not designated as a trading holiday for equities or derivatives, allowing investors to engage in normal market activities.

Settlement Holiday for Id-e-Milad

While trading activities will proceed, August 26, 2026, is observed as a settlement holiday due to Id-e-Milad (Milad-un-Nabi).

This results in a pause in the back-end clearing of funds and share deliveries. Consequently, trades executed on August 25 will settle on August 27, 2026, instead of August 26, 2026.

Impact on Clearing and Settlement

The settlement holiday impacts the clearing process, delaying the settlement of trades by 1 day.

This affects transactions executed on August 25, 2026, which will now settle on August 27, 2026. Investors should be aware of this adjustment in the settlement timeline.
