Sterling Tools Limited, through its EV arm Sterling Gtake E-Mobility (SGEM), has signed a technology partnership with China’s Landworld Technology to manufacture electric vehicle on-board chargers, DC/DC converters, and multifunction units in India. The move underlines the company’s intent to deepen localisation, reduce import reliance, and align with the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives.

Partnership Scope and Revenue Outlook

SGEM has entered into technology licence and supply agreements with Landworld Technology Co. Ltd. to produce advanced EV power electronics at its Faridabad campus. The product line includes on-board chargers, DC/DC converters, and multifunction units that integrate power distribution units. 

The venture is projected to generate around ₹450 crore in business by FY30, within a market estimated to reach ₹3,000 crore. These components are considered critical for electrifying both passenger and commercial vehicles.

Leadership Comments and Technology Details 

As per the exchange filing, Anil Aggarwal, Chairman, Sterling Tools Limited, said: “This partnership creates greater depth in the EV ecosystem in India. We are expanding beyond our initial Motor Control Unit & Power Train platforms to meet our customers’ growing demand for advanced technology in the EV sector.”

Explaining the opportunity, Lin Chen, Vice General Manager, Landworld Technology Co., Ltd., China, noted: “India’s EV market offers immense potential for growth and innovation. Through our partnership with Sterling Gtake, we are bringing our proven expertise in On-Board Chargers and DC/DC converters to Indian customers across several EV vehicle categories.”

Company Background And Strategic Impact

Founded in 1979, Sterling Tools manufactures high-tensile automotive fasteners and has diversified into EV components through SGEM. Its collaborations span Jiangsu Gtake Electric in China, Advanced Electric Machines in the UK, and now Landworld. 

SGEM’s portfolio includes motor control units, magnet-free motors, on-board and off-board chargers, and DC/DC converters, serving both established and start-up OEMs. A further subsidiary, Sterling Tech-Mobility, is set to produce HVDC contactors and relays in Bangalore with Kunshan GLVAC Yuantong.

Landworld, established in 2013 in Shenzhen, is a recognised high-tech enterprise with more than 350 employees, including 150 in R&D. Its customer base includes BYD, Dongfeng, Geely, CHERY, Leap Motors, SERES, Foton, Yutong, Stellantis, and Volkswagen.

Sterling Tools Limited Share Price Performance 

As of September 15, 2025, at 1:44 PM, Sterling Tools share price is trading at ₹345.80 per share, reflecting a gain of 4.44% from the previous closing price. Over the past month, the stock has gained by 7.86%.
