RVNL Bags ₹178.64 Crore Railway Infrastructure Development Project from IRCON

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a public sector railway company, has announced that it received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from IRCON International Limited for a new project worth ₹178.64 crore. The project involves major signalling and telecommunications work and is to be completed within 11 months.
What is the Scope of RVNL’s New Project?
The scope of the work includes supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning various signalling and telecom systems at 10 new railway stations across Chattisgarh. This includes Surakachhar, Block Cabin, Katghora Road, Bhingra, Putuwa, Matin, Sendurgarh, Putipakhana, and Dhangawan, among others.
In addition, 6 new intermediate block signalling (IBS) systems will be installed between Bhingra and Pendra Road to enhance train operations and safety.
What Else Will RVNL Do Under the Project?
As per news reports, RVNL will also be closely involved in:
- Setting up centralised and distributed electronic interlocking (EI) systems
- Installing electronic in-motion weighbridges (EIMWB)
- Building a new section control system with modern train communication tools
- A new telephone exchange for smoother communication
- Alteration and upgrade of existing systems at Kusmunda Block Station yard and SECL Silo Siding East Cabin
The entire project cost includes all transportation, insurance, taxes, and duties.

RVNL confirmed that this order falls under its regular course of business and aligns with its expertise in railway infrastructure development. The company continues to secure and deliver high-value contracts, supporting the Indian Railways’ growth.
Meanwhile, RVNL share price closed at ₹324.20 on the BSE on August 14, down ₹2.05 or 0.63%, following weak Q1 margins.
