RITES Limited and Bengaluru-based iSky Transport Systems Pvt. Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly explore transport and logistics projects in India. Reportedly, the MoU was signed on August 1, 2025, in Gurugram.

Objective of the Collaboration

The collaboration is aimed at identifying and working on infrastructure projects in urban mobility, multimodal transport, container logistics, and material handling. Both parties will assess the scope of new technologies and applications in these areas.

The MoU brings iSky Transport’s Suspended String Rail Technology (SSRT) into the picture. It is an elevated transit system that may be used in proposed projects. Discussions and studies on its feasibility are expected as part of the agreement.

Both Companies Role

RITES, a public sector enterprise with over 5 decades of experience, will bring its infrastructure consultancy and execution capabilities. The company has previously worked on transport-related projects in over 55 countries.

iSky Transport, based in Bengaluru, is focused on transit system innovation. Under this MoU, the company will offer its SSRT-based solutions and explore their fit for use in urban transport and logistics models in Indian cities.

The companies may look into opportunities that support India’s urban development goals, particularly in areas such as smart cities and integrated transport systems. No formal project announcements have been made yet.
