
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) announced that it has emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L1) for a major bridge construction project awarded by North Eastern Railway.
The contract, valued at over ₹165 crore, forms part of the ongoing doubling work between Gorakhpur Cantt and Valmikinagar, reflecting RVNL’s expanding project footprint in India’s railway infrastructure network.
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has been declared the Lowest Bidder (L1) by the North Eastern Railway for the “Construction of substructure of Important Bridge No. 50 (14x61.0 m) with Double D type well foundation for double line with RDSO 25 T axle loading standard over river Gandak between Paniyahwa and Valmikinagar stations.”
The project is part of the broader doubling work between Gorakhpur Cantt and Valmikinagar under the North Eastern Railway. This win falls within the normal course of RVNL’s business operations.
The total value of the contract is ₹165.54 crore (inclusive of GST), with a completion timeline of 24 months. The project will be executed under the General Contract Conditions of Indian Railways.
This bridge will significantly enhance connectivity and freight capacity, improving regional infrastructure and aiding economic growth in the eastern corridor.
As of 28 October 2025 9:50 AM, RVNL’s share price traded at ₹331.80, up ₹1.80 on the NSE from the previous close of ₹330.00. The stock opened at ₹332.65, reached a high of ₹333.40, and recorded a low of ₹330.75 during the session.
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (INE415G01027) has maintained a strong record of shareholder returns. The company declared a Dividend of ₹1.72 per share with an Ex-Date and Record Date of 21 August 2025. Investors holding shares in demat accounts on the record date were eligible for this payout.
