Prozeal Green Energy has secured a contract worth more than ₹2,000 crore from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for setting up 250 MW of captive wind power capacity, as per news reports.
The projects will be connected to the interstate transmission system (ISTS), according to the company.
The scope of work includes the development of wind projects as well as their operation and maintenance for a period of 10 years.
The contract comes at a time when the Ahmedabad-based renewable energy company is preparing for its Initial Public Offering (IPO). Prozeal Green Energy has received approval from the SEBI for the proposed issue.
The company has said the fresh proceeds will be used for working capital, repayment of debt at its subsidiary and other corporate requirements.
Prozeal Green Energy provides engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for renewable energy projects.
Besides solar installations, it also undertakes work related to electric vehicle charging infrastructure and operates EV charging stations.
As per its draft prospectus, the company was the fourth-largest solar EPC company in India by revenue during FY24.
The ONGC order marks Prozeal Green Energy's entry into utility-scale wind power projects. The 250 MW capacity will be developed as captive generation for ONGC and will form part of the company's renewable energy portfolio.
The contract also provides for long-term maintenance of the assets after project completion under a 10-year agreement.
